John has spent the last 23 years in the both the finance and technology industries. While living in New York City he was an analyst and portfolio manager focused primarily on emerging technology and early stage companies. He worked at the investment banks of Thomson McKinnon and Citigroup (Smith Barney). In Denver, John continued as a portfolio manager at Denver Investment Advisors where he was consistently ranked in the top quartile of Small Cap Growth fund managers. He has been recognized by the investment industry for excellence and has been a guest on both PBS’ NewsHour with Jim Lehrer and CNBC. John was a founding partner in MessageWatcher, a web-based compliance and risk mitigation company. He has been a consultant to start-up companies focused on Financial Planning and Analysis. Most recently he was CFO of Mojofiti, a language translation company. He received his MBA in Finance from New York University and he earned his dual BS in Computer Science and Economics at Iowa State University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
